Gutter clearing: what is included and what costs extra?

When you ask for gutter cleaning, you might mean removing leaves from inside the gutter, washing the outside, or both. These are different jobs. Agreeing the scope first makes it easier to compare quotes and understand the finished result.

Clearing the inside of the gutter

Whales clears leaves, moss and silt from the gutter run, checks the run and flushes downpipes as agreed. Access matters: height, obstacles and the position of the gutter can change the equipment and time needed. Send photographs taken from the ground rather than climbing up to inspect it yourself.

Washing gutters, fascias and soffits

Removing debris from inside a gutter does not include washing its outside face or the fascia and soffit boards. If you want those cleaned too, ask James to add them to the quote. That way the price covers the finish you actually want.

What affects the price?

Our gutter clearing starts from £85. The confirmed price depends on the length of guttering, height, access and work required. Send your full address and photos showing the front, rear and any awkward areas such as a conservatory. James will discuss the scope and confirm the price before you book.

Is a clearance the same as a repair?

No. Removing a blockage does not repair a damaged joint, a broken bracket or a leaking roof. Mention any leaks when requesting your quote so the problem can be assessed rather than assuming cleaning will resolve it.

When moss is coming from the roof

Tell James if roof moss is collecting in the gutters. You can request gutter clearance on its own or discuss a roof-cleaning assessment. Our roof-cleaning package includes gutter clearance, with the full scope confirmed in the quote. The method and appointment depend on the roof and suitable weather.
